Whitby Regatta Races Against Time to Secure Aerial Displays

by Evelyn

Organizers of the Whitby Regatta are in a race against time to raise at least £6,000 by the end of April to secure aerial attractions for this summer’s event, scheduled to take place from Saturday, August 9, to Monday, August 11.

Efforts are underway to bring in the Lancaster bomber and the RAF Falcons parachute team for two days of the festival. However, the Red Arrows will not be making an appearance this year.

To support the funding efforts, a Crowdfunder campaign has been launched, emphasizing the regatta’s significance to the local community.

“This annual event, filled with thrilling boat races, parades, and spectacular fireworks, is a testament to the spirit and resilience of Whitby,” the campaign states. “Your generous contributions will ensure that the Whitby Regatta continues to be a highlight of the summer, providing joy and excitement for generations to come.”

With time running short, organizers are urging supporters to contribute and help secure the much-anticipated aerial displays.
