After months of anticipation, the newly revamped Balvatika amusement park at Ahmedabad’s Kankaria Lakefront is set to reopen its doors to the public on April 15. With a blend of modern entertainment and educational attractions, the park promises to offer a unique experience for visitors of all ages.
Once a beloved recreational spot for children, Balvatika has undergone a complete transformation into a state-of-the-art family-friendly destination. Featuring 28 diverse attractions, the park’s redevelopment was carried out under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model with an investment of ₹22 crore. The aim is to provide a world-class experience while preserving the park’s cultural essence at the heart of Gujarat.
Among the park’s most exciting additions are Gujarat’s first Wax Museum and a Glass Tower, which will offer panoramic views at a height never seen before in the region. Other major attractions include the Illusion House and a high-tech Flying Theatre—both debuting in the state and expected to set new benchmarks for the entertainment sector in Western India.
Several experiences at Balvatika will be accessible with a general entry ticket, including the Glass House, Coin House Key, Shoe House, Landscape Garden, Selfie Zone, and Glow Station. However, certain premium experiences and rides will require a separate ticket, with pricing details to be revealed ahead of the grand opening.
For children, the park offers a range of thrilling attractions such as the Jumping Adventure, X Warrior self-driving game, Royal Ride, and the Robot Moving Activity. The Dinosaur Train, which accommodates up to eight children, is expected to be a major hit among young visitors. Additionally, the Snow Park (Nabh Darshan) will take families on a whimsical journey through the nine planets in a wintry atmosphere.
Adults and teenagers can enjoy the VR Reality Zone, which features 20 interactive games and bumper cars. The Mirror Maze, designed for group exploration, adds to the list of immersive experiences. For those seeking more thrills, the Adventure Ride, designed for six children, will provide an adrenaline-pumping experience.
The revitalized Balvatika is expected to significantly enhance Ahmedabad’s tourism appeal while also boosting revenue generation for the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. Officials anticipate that the park, which previously earned approximately ₹10 lakh annually, will now generate around ₹40 lakh per year. The city will receive 27% of the park’s revenue share. Superstar Amusement Pvt. Ltd, the company awarded the redevelopment contract, will oversee the park’s operations, including maintenance, staffing, and security.
As the city prepares for the reopening of Balvatika, residents and tourists alike can look forward to a new chapter in family entertainment at Kankaria Lakefront, combining nostalgia with innovation in a vibrant new destination.
